"Baila!" is a collection of oil paintings celebrating dance in Latinx culture. These pieces are inspired by the Limé dolls from the Dominican Republic that my mom used to collect - those brightly dressed figures mid-movement, frozen in celebration. Growing up surrounded by them, I absorbed their energy before I understood their cultural weight. This series is my attempt to carry that forward - the joy, the movement, the way dance functions as both art and identity in Latino communities.

This piece is special to me as it celebrates the resilience of Latinx women who, despite facing cultural erasure and machismo, continue to shine through the unifying power of dance.
